Sanrio and Forever 21 collaborate to make a limited edition Hello Kitty collection. The collection features intimates, sleepwear, hosiery, accessories, and women's apparel. Cute designs for the Hello Kitty lover in you. Can you believe Hello Kitty has been around for almost forever. My mom told me when she was in elementary school if you were a rich kid you had all the Hello Kitty stationary. Now Hello Kitty is affordable to all.

While doing my usual online window shopping, I found nail company ncLA on Karmaloop. Where I'm currently located nail fashion does not occur. I have to teach my nail tech designs which is cool but I'm usually the one that does my own nails.

Since Nail wraps have been on the scene everyone and their mother have been going crazy (Minx or Sally Hensen). ncLa has the hottest nail wrap designs and what's great about them is they are made to last longer than a manicure. The nail wraps retail for $16 and kit includes 22 nail wraps, nail file, and directions. When I order some nails wraps, I am sure to make a post on them. Meantime check it out.

It's great to see a women get recognized for her work and not cut short of opportunities due to her full figured size. Currently Adele had vocal chord surgery and had to cancel upcoming shows but don't fear since her album 21 is so great it won't be too hard to miss her.

Nicki Minaj and O.P.I teamed up for a Nicki Minaj polish collection. The collection features six colors: "Metal 4 Life", "Super Bass Shatter", "Fly", "Save Me", "Did it on Em" and "Pink Friday".

Photo's of the Versace and H&M collection lookbook has finally been revealed.

The collection features bold colors and print with studs. The clothing gives an old Versace feel to this collection.

The collection will be available in US and Canada stores November 14th and some 300 selected stores Worldwide. Don't forget there is plenty more pieces to this collection, if you don't see anything you like just wait for the rest.

The men's collection sparks my interest way more than the women's collection. The men's collection looks more "expensive". Excited to see what is more to come and the actual pieces in person.

Beading has always been something I wanted to learn how to do.

For example this really hot Balmain mini skirt that I would love to make because that $10,800 price tag isn't cutting it for my young pockets. I have a plain black skirt that is fading so covering it up with beads would be perfect since the skirt fits me great. I'm just nervous about the time because I plan on making this in about a week *crosses fingers*. I will do a later post when/if I finish this project. Wish me luck.

During Paris Fashion Week, Kanye West debuted his highly anticipated women's clothing line, DW. The clothing line is named after his late mother Donda West. Kanye had a lot of support from fellow celebrities (The Olsen Twins, Ciara, and Jared Leto), as well as designers (Jeremy Scott and Alexander Wang) even Anna Wintour attended. Models Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn, Karlie Kloss, hit the runway sporting the new DW Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I still don't know what to think of the collection, I don't hate it or love it but NY Mag wrote an interesting article on what Kanye got right and got wrong for his first show. I wish I could get an upclose what the nameplates say, the hair and makeup was pretty normal.

My sweet friend Jackyara Tatis had a presentation for her graduation at the Art Institute of New York City. I had the pleasure of being there to support her (she did a great job). I couldn't wait to see what everyone else presented as well. I could have taken other photos but of course my camera was dying. I was lucky enough to talk to some that inspired me and reminded me what my heart is in. The older I get the more I believe in myself and the more I realize that I can really do anything.

MONEY CAN'T BUY STYLE

Recently, I noticed K-Mart's new campaign "Money Can't Buy Style". As many know K-Mart is not that store you think to get the latest fashion. Before Wal-Mart and Target took over K-Mart was a place you could feel comfortable buying clothes. Those days have long gone but now K-Mart is revamping themselves. This campaign is to prove that with a tiny budget you can still afford to express yourself.

"Our goal is to get people to look at Kmart apparel differently," said Tara Poseley, president of Apparel at Kmart. "We took a fresh approach in our campaign with a message that truly embodies what Kmart does best -- making the aspirational attainable. We have great fashion that we're not getting credit for today. We hope the campaign will get people to consider us for what is a very compelling brand portfolio."

From what I see this campaign looks promising. The campaign features real people who have choosen their own clothing for the ads. The clothes are not horrible and actually better than I thought. Cosumers do need a little more convincing since the K-Mart's around my way do not look like they been updated for a long time. What do you think? Can K-Mart bounce back and remain in competition?

FASHIONS NIGHT OUT NYC

This year for my first time, I attended Fashions Night Out in NYC. Of course, I made a whole list of events and I left it at my apartment. My night started at Betsey Johnson in SoHo. Betsey Johnson served champagne and cupcakes. Yoplait was sponsoring the event and sweet models served us yogurt. Live DJ and free make overs. Right next door Adidas Originals also had a live DJ and was serving up drinks courtesy of Ciroc. While walking we ran into Jared Leto . He was nice enough to walk to us to take a picture after finishing his lunch.

The night went on with whatever fun things we could attend. Ralph Lauren, Aldo, Prada, Bloomingdales, Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, etc were some events we attended. I badly wanted to meet Pharrell from N.E.R.D at his BBC store but the line was too long and I didn't want to miss out on more events. Marc Jacobs and Teen Vogue was also on my list but by the time me and my friends arrived it was over. Overall, seeing everyone on the street with their personal style was fun.

Basically my night was over but not yet. I ran into Chris March, a contestant from Project Runway season 4 trying to catch a cab. Chris March will be starring on a new show "Mad Fashion" premiering October 4th on Bravo.

I snapped this awesome picture of the glowing lights of the twin towers. Very appropriate since tomorrow will be the 10th year anniversary.

Of course I go into my usual hiding. Sorry readers, I don't know how to keep up with myself lately. But I'm back. With going back to school, getting a new apartment, purchasing my first car, finding a job...finding more of myself, I been busy. Sadly, I been putting my love/life of fashion in a back burner.

Recently, I attended two new Forever 21's in my area and surprisingly was not disappointed. Ever since being introduced to Forever 21 as a teen that was the number one store to shop. When my wardrobe changed, Forever 21 no longer held the number one spot. Well, I went back and purchased new earrings, pants, and dresses. For the first time their plus size collection was available. I caught myself looking at their clothes even though I can't fit it. The plus size collection had better prints than regular size but they did not have a large selection.Which I found very interesting.

My sweet brother just turned 21. As well as many of my friends, father, and sister had birthdays. Speaking of that, I think I am done with the club life, I need to cut my attendance.

Like everyone else, I dyed my hair blue (should have been lavender). I mean why not? My hair doesn't break off anyways and I'm young!

Thrifting was also something I did more of this Summer.

Nail designs is something I am getting better at. "Practice makes perfect".

Hurricane Irene hit the East coast and I luckily was one that was not affected. What really upset me is on my Twitter time-line there was a lot of negative comments, which I thought was very insensitive. Just because you were not harmed other were and lost homes.

Farewell Summer 2011. Hello Fall 2011.I have to say this Summer 2011 was fun, others may disagree.

NEIMAN MARCUS BLOGGERS BREAKFAST

Held at Neiman Marcus located in Paramus, NJ was a blogger's breakfast. Of course traffic on a Saturday I was running late but once arriving I was pleased to see the outcome. I did not know there were as many bloggers in the area. Beautiful ladies were around to introduce themselves and their blogs or influence on fashion. The breakfast was held in their Rotunda restaurant, which had a beautiful view. We were lucky to have editor of Neiman Marcus Daily (Neiman Marcus own blog) Jean Scheidnes attend this event.

Bloggers and other guests were able to talk to each other for sometime and then take a tour around Neiman Marcus. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet everyone but I hope to get all their information and contact everyone. The tour was nice because Lynne Vreeland gave a lot of background behind designers. I noticed a lot of companies with husband and wife associations. What I also liked were the displays of artwork. Artwork is heavily incorporated with fashion.

Staff even looked the part.

Balenciaga bags that everyone seeks in numerous colors.

Lynne also introduced us men's fashion which I did appreciate because I want to learn more about that area.

I want to thank Neiman Marcus for inviting us, especially Jean Scheidnes, Lynne Vreeland, and Kim Kaufman for participating and making this event so special.

THE MET HONORS ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

Two weeks ago me and my sisters decided to visit the Met in New York. I always have been a lover of art. I haven't been to the Met in a long time so to revisit was exciting. The exhibit I was especially looking forward to was the Alexander McQueen exhibit "Savage Beauty". As you know designer Alexander McQueen fell victim to suicide.To see his work in this type of event was really special. The waiting line to see the exhibit was very long. When you finally get in it was an "OHHH AHHH" moment. Reading his quotes and looking at the actual pieces was inspiring. Some pieces were from the 90's which was nice to see since I don't know much about his designs from so far back. Videos and music played in the background while walking through to add special effect. Towards the end, a holographic of model Kate Moss turning in a long flowing dress was beautiful to watch.
The last collection McQueen designed before passing away was especially my favorite. I couldn't resist leaving without touching his pieces so I had to touch the armadillo heels. When leaving the exhibit small versions of the armadillo heels, calenders, magnets and a book of the exhibit were sold. I didn't purchase anything (I wish I purchased a small armadillo heel). There is still time if you live around New York or want to make a trip. The exhibit is until August 7th. For more information click here.

Right now right here as I am typing I am CONTENT. I have no complaints. God has blessed me with a steady income, family, and friends. I been working like a dog lately and having fun as well so I been having the best of both. My sister recently had her Senior Prom.

I been slighty partying with some friends. I met up with Diane from http://romillyprosper.blogspot.com/ to have a random beach date and it was relaxing!

I ran around NYC to remove my friend Jarnisa's dermal piercings.

Finally I seen my friend Jacky who I haven't seen in forever.

We decided to go to NYC as well to get away and enjoy our day off and randomly Ryan Leslie was performing for free at an Apple store. That surprise was great because we both love his music and feel as if he is underrated. Ryan Leslie was so close that he almost touched my hand.

Summer 2011 has been great so far, I hope all of my readers are having a good time as well.

"What's your name, what's your age, and do you have kids?"

Yes. That is lately what I have to answer when meeting someone else. Getting older I realize age is not a big deal anymore because at some point all of us are on the same playing field. Age does not validate maturity, security, or success. The ironic thing is the saying "act your age" doesn't even cut it nowadays.

The older I get the more I realize men can still act like children. I'm not man bashing but I wonder how you men who do have children or are in your 30's that go to night clubs, still try to make it in life. Yes, no one wants to get to an age where they feel like they can't have fun anymore but sometimes you come to a point in life where you have to want stability in your life. I wonder what about those relationships where couples are 10 or more years apart in age. Does that relationship last? I think so. I think regardless of age if you both enjoy each other's company and the "flow" of your relationship works then why not. People are so stuck on age. Men go after younger women regardless of the reason but then treat them like they are little girls. Because I'm in my 20's does not make me less of a woman; I respect myself, know how to hold a conversation and knows how to wipe my ass. Let's be real. Society is jacked up too. It seems everyone has children finding someone without a child is rare. Scary but true. I hate being asked if I have children. No I don't have children I have future goals and NOTHING is stopping me. There are some great mother's but no that is not for me. Especially right now.

...it's a celebration.

This past weekend I attended my step brother's college graduation. I couldn't be more proud. Angel has graduated from Johnson and Wales located in Providence, Rhode Island. I stayed at the Hilton which was very conveinient because it was located in downtown Providence. The mall was close and even better the graduation was right next door. The first night I went to the mall and mostly helped my mom shop for new close since they lost weight. The next day was the graduation. I went shopping in the morning and all I could find was this pretty ring from Aldo, a top and pant from H&M, and a lipstick from Sephora. I have to say though make sure you hit the next Aldo because they have a lot of fun accessories for the Summer. Then was the graduation, there was a student that was choosen to be a speaker and her words affected me so much I still remember her name. I'm going through an issue with school so her words got me chocked up. My step brother graduated and my family of course wanted to take a million photos. My family is very dynamic, I have to say. Lately I noticed technology has everyone and their parents become camera happy. I know there has to be a professional psychological name for that type of issue. We took photos and then went off to dinner. I enjoyed myself. My mother and my brother has an issue with my fashion. I wore harem pants and a crop top and they looked at me like I committed a crime but I know deep down inside they love it.

Yet another beauty product to go crazy about. Violent lips has put a twist on lipstick in a way that it lasts long. I think the idea is really cool. I like how simple it is. I watched the whole video and I couldn't stop thinking about the days when I would go to an arcade and win tickets because I badly wanted to buy a million temporary tattoos. The video helps to show how easy it is to apply the temporary lip tattoos. Photos are available on Violent Lips of women actually wearing the lip tattoos. I think the best look was the leopard and pink dot. More lip tattoos come out periodically so if your not into the available tattoos I believe you will eventually find one that suits you best. If you decide to invest into these lip tattoos as an alternative to llipstick let me know how it works out. Like I said this is a really cool idea but I don't think I will try this anytime soon.

I have been missing from my Blog. Sorry loves. The semester has ended now. I am back home working and seeing family/friends. Good old Jersey. I first attended a grand opening at a club in Queens, NY called Odyssey. It was a good time, DJ Camillo was there but by that time it was late into the night. The next day I did a little bit of shopping I needed it badly. It was very therapeutic. Except I purchased this fringe purse from Aldo's which I want to return. I think I have a bad case of buyers remorse lately. Strangely I purchased an Obey bag with the American flag on it. Strange because I hate the colors red, white, and blue together. Then I attended my friend Brittany's graduation. She is now a Rutger's Business Alumni and I couldn't be any more prouder. Stay tuned.

This weekend my college, shout out East Stroudsburg University had a fashion show. I did not have good seating because I was late and then when I did get good seating I deleted all my photos in my camera by accident. When the professional photos come out I will try to post them later.

It is two weeks till this semester ends and I can finally go back home to Jersey. This weekend was crucial I did it up with my friends and had a good time.

I was running late because I was trying to curl my hair with a curling iron and that took too damn long. I ended up just curling it with my Chi flat iron and I am telling you if you haven't purchased a Chi I would say invest into one. I had it for about two years and it always comes in hand. I pinned the side of my hair which was my first time and it was a success!

Earlier I went to Wal-Mart to purchase some lipstick. I bought a Revlon lipstick "Siren" which is this bright orange lipstick and a Covergirl lipstick "Delish Regal". I didn't wear any of them but I did wear Revlon's "Coral".

My girls surprised me and came to the fashion show. I was so excited. The fashion show was long and it was theatrical. I eventually got a seat in the front row but I moved around so much. I was starving and wanted to get my night started so I left and gotten pizza and drinks.

Me and my girls made it to the after party and I changed into an H&M dress with pumps from Charlotte Russe (all nude). I was mostly running around with my friend Jacky throughout the party. At the end of the party I had a spiritual conversation about how good God is to me and to stay focused on my life and goals, I needed that. I had a good time.

Unlike the lucky people who grew up in the 80's in New York, I didn't! I wasn't even born yet. Any-who, another obsession of mines is New York. I am a true Jersey girl at heart but somehow New York is taking over that spot. I am obsessed with the culture. The city just speaks to my soul (not to get all poetic). I stumbled upon this video of Times Square subway station in 1986. It shows how gritty subways were before Transit Authority decided to clean it up.

Two months ago I was going to post about nail company Zoya and their nail spoons. I came across the nail spoons and it struck my interest. Coincidentally, during New York Fashion Week, the show I was covering, had Zoya as their nail technicians.
I had a chance to briefly speak to Erin Giddings, a representative for Zoya.

"Zoya is the new color of fashion".

Zoya, gave out some samples of the Spring 2011 nail spoons and two bottles of their nail polish. I luckily got my hands on one of their Spring colors, Jules. When I painted on the nail color Jules, it exactly matched the color of the nail spoon.Therefore, it proved to me the nail spoons do correctly match the nail color you will purchase. I see that they cost .50 cents per spoon. If it's worth it why not try the nail spoons out?

I am a fan of network Bravo. Bravo has all the great shows like The Real Housewives, Millionaire Matchmaker, etc. During the commercials Bluefly (an online retailer of designer brands) features celebrities that are known for their fashion. Bluefly takes you into their closet where the celebrity explains and shows-off all their favorite shoes, clothing, and accessories. Every time a new video is made I get excited like a child. Fashion gets my blood pumping. My sister and all my friends know I am a very nosy person. Once I meet someone I go into their closet to see what there outlook on fashion is. At first their initial reaction is what the hell is this girl doing but later realize that's just me. I raid my sisters closet and hopefully on a later post I will share some of her finds.

PRAY FOR JAPAN

Since the devastating disaster in Japan, I have been watching CNN since day one. If only I was closer I would truly help. Since I am not, all I could do is pray for them and support American Red Cross in their efforts to raise money. My physics professor felt the need to speak on the issues of the aftermath of the disasters, for example, nuclear waste. He went into depth of the science behind it. My whole class were genuinely interested, they could have left but they stayed. That right there showed me there is hope for mankind. Not everyone is purely evil.

Me and some other friends were talking today and asked "If America went through similar disasters as Haiti and Japan, who would help us?" I personally had no clue, who are our allies? That bothers me to think that. If tomorrow an earthquake, tsunami, or hurricane occurred I would run to Jersey and hide.

But let us not forget Haiti. It has been a year since they have gone through there disaster. I feel so much tragedy comes after another. It is so hard to keep up with all of them. The US are the first looked at for help. "Out of sight, out of mind". Haiti is not completely recovered, even Hurricane Katrina victims! After all these years its been hard to rebuild.
Now the U.S. is having issues with Libya. I just want it to all stop.

For my birthday I wanted a cute nail design and I seen Sally Hansen Nail Effects so I purchased the "Kitty Kitty" design.

The box included 16 nail strips of different sizes, a cuticle stick, and a mini buffer/file. I followed the picture diagram on how to apply to strips and it was fairly simple. I applied the nail strips, used the cuticle stick to push down the strips and then used the nail file to buff off extra. This took me about ten minutes. Once I applied them, I was was very impressed. I took a shower after I applied them and the nail strips seemed to stay on well.

They advertise that it holds up to 10 days but as busy as I am after day 5 I seen the polish wearing off. That didn't bother me as much personally. The problem I had was some of the nail sizes were to big or too little so I had to really work around that.

I kept the nail strips on for about two weeks and finally removed them with nail polish. When removed only the glitter came off and the leopard print stayed on. It was a little annoying that the nail strips didn't immediately rub off.

At some drug stores they average around $9.50 but I know at Wal-Mart they are about $1 or so cheaper. The problem about Wal-Mart is when stocked they are sold out almost immediately. I know of other places like Sephora having nail strips like this also and I might use one of their designs to compare with Sally Hansen.

After trying the nail effects out I would say it was worth my purchase and everyone who seen my nails loved them.

I just had to post this. Why is everything 3D? I just was usually online looking through blogs and seen a post on 3d chalk. Are we that ridiculous that we have to have everything in 3D. What happened to children having an imagination. I am not that old but I remember growing up with the old school red and blue 3D glasses , you know the time when life was simple and pleasant. Now every movie I want to see is out in 3D ummm hello in no way do I want to see a damn romantic comedy in 3D. I am so irked with mankind lately. I don't want to pay an extra 10$ to get an effect. If your movie/product is that boring then don't try and "save" it by producing it in 3D.

My birthday was February 27th and I have to say I am exhausted!
Friday my lovely ladies Crystal and Tina celebrated me and my friend Kathy's 22nd birthday. We stayed in PA and went to bar a downtown. It was a good time. I have been trying to keep my alcohol consumption to a low and I think I kept my cool.

Saturday, I went out to a lounge in the Bronx with my P.I.C (partner in crime) Jarnisa and our friend Francis. Always a good time no matter what the scenery is like.

On Sunday, the day of my actual birthday, I attended my cousins/God Mother's Shonda's wedding. I have been praying/waiting for her to have this day. We have a very tight bond, she even thanked me for being there for her on my birthday and gave me a card.
